Warner Brothers has confirmed a July 13, 2007 release for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
This news seems to squash the popular rumor that Book 7, the last in the series, will be released on 7/7/07. Yet rumor still has it that the book will be released in 2007.
The Guardian newspaper recently featured a piece on UK Harry Potter book publishers Bloomsbury. In an excerpt, it's stated:
"Newton talks about sustaining the franchise with "launches" of Harry Potter products (audiobooks, cloth-bound boxed sets, and so on) until 2011, but the truth is that after the final volume of JK Rowling's series appears, probably in 2007 and then in paperback in 2008, the company has just three more years of mega-bucks revenues."
There has been no confirmation from J.K. Rowling as to when Book 7 will be released. Her only 'official' statement recently has been that the book "is coming along nicely".
