The bestselling author will talk to children about her books, her writing and the kind of books she likes to read. And during the chat, JK Rowling will answer twelve special questions from the winners of the Festival competition open to all UK schools.
Readers will be able to access the World Book Day Online Festival at their local library via the Peoples Network, which provides internet access in all UK public libraries. Libraries will also be programming thousands of special activities on the day. The Festival films and transcripts of the web chats will then be archived at World Book Day Festival.com so they can be visited over and over again.

LONDON, Nov 17 (Reuters) - The world's most famous boy wizard set a new record on Monday -- sales of the Harry Potter books have hit a quarter of a billion.
Rowling's agent, Christopher Little, told Reuters worldwide sales of the first five books have now reached 250 million.
They have been sold in more than 200 countries and translated into 60 languages, ranging from Gujarati to Ancient Greek. The latest, launched in India this month, was in Hindi.

An appeals court upheld a ban on the Dutch publication of a Russian novel 'Tanya Grotter and the Magic Double Bass' by Dmitry Yemets, upholding the view that the book infringed Rowling's copyright by it's similarities to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
