JKR to Read at Radio City Music Hall

J.K. Rowling will be making a rare public reading at Radio City Music Hall on on August 1 and 2 along with authors Stephen King and John Irving. King is spearheading the charity reading to benefit Doctors Without Borders and the Haven Foundation, a charity " to help performing artists who have suffered illnesses or debilitating accidents that prevent them from working".

The event is being billed as "An Evening with Harry, Carrie, and Garp".

According to JKR's website, tickets ranging from $12.50 to $100 will be available through Ticketmaster from May 12, 2006 at 10 a.m (EST). There are also a limited number of $1,000 family packages, which include four orchestra seats and a signed book from each of the authors.

According to TLC, there will be surprise guests and an audience question and answer session. Ticket buyers will have the opportunity to submit a question for the authors via email.

A possible web broadcast of the event is in the works, though not confirmed at this point.
